Year 3 Mrs Smith

Around the World Day

Today we celebrated China for our Around the World Day! We learnt about China and some of their customs, we practiced writing some numbers in Mandarin, we took part in some drama around the story ‘The Willow Pattern’ and then made some paper chain Chinese dragons and lanterns! In the afternoon we tasted prawn crackers and used chopsticks to eat noodles which we found very yummy!

It was lovely to see all the children dressed up and taking part in the activities!

Looking forward to our Around the World Day tomorrow.

Please ensure you have paid for this via parentmail.

We are looking forward to applying what we have learnt about castles to our trip.

Wow Owlets! What an amazing hamper. Don't forget to buy your tickets!

On Friday 20th May the school will be holding a non-uniform day to raise funds and this time we would like you to contribute for a hamper as we have done previously. Owlets are going to theme their hamper 'teddy bears picnic' so it would be great if you could donate items such as: tea, biscuits, sweet treats or perhaps a small bear. Thank you for your support in this. The last hamper was amazing and I'm sure Oliver and his family enjoyed it!

Celebration time

On Friday 27th May the children will all be celebrating the Queen's 70th Jubilee. Year 3 are going to be looking at the 1950's and we would like the children to dress up in 1950's outfits. The Owlets and Otters will be learning a dance to share at the celebration.

Please note lanterns will not be returned once they have been sent to the trail. Have fun making them. We had some lovely examples last year and they looked amazing in the town.
