Maths

Today in Maths, we are looking at the FIRST half of the area model worksheet. This is beginning to look at multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits through using the area model. Make sure you watch the video below to help you! I have every faith that you can work these out, just make sure you take your time!

English

For English over the next two days, you are going to be looking at aspects of AFOREST. These have been outlined for you on the sheet in your pack and below. Your task is to become familiar with these language features and using the second sheet, come up with your own examples to use in your informative leaflet about the North Pole next week. I have given you an example for each below. Come up with as many examples as you can on your worksheet and get ready to share some of your ideas on Friday's TEAMS session!

A - ALLITERATION - e.g. Perfect playful polar bears.

F - FACTS - e.g. The coldest recorded temperature for the North Pole is -70 degrees.

O - OPINION - e.g. Polar bears are the cutest animals on our planet.

R - RHETORICAL QUESTION - e.g. Do you want to see these poor animals suffer?

E - EMOTIVE LANGUAGE - e.g. Think about the poor, defenceless animals.

S - STATISTICS - e.g. roughly 22% of the earths undiscovered oil sources are beneath the                                       Arctic seabed.

T - THREE (RULE OF THREE) - e.g. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Geography

For your Geography today you will be looking at Time Zones. Use the PowerPoint below to help you out. The interactive time zone map below will really help with the activity too!
