Ask the children what they think an ocean is?

Explain the key things that our oceans:

Produce food

Produces 50% of the world’s oxygen

Regulates the Earth’s climate

Keeps all of the marine life alive as it is their home

Children to create their own ocean collage by painting the background – blue for ocean and yellow for the sand at the bottom using techniques such as sponging/bubble wrap printing/painting etc.

Sprinkle some sand of the yellow, or mix sand and glitter into the paint with a little pva.
