Their given challenge was for the children to all do or say 'one kind thing' everyday this week, so below are 40 Acts of Kindness that your child may wish to use.
Here are some of our firework poems. We worked as a class to build up adjectives to describe bonfire night through our senses. We then worked in pairs to create firework poems describing what we could see, hear and smell. We also learnt what an expanded noun phrase is!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Badgers!
It was wonderful seeing lots of you from Badger class at the PFA Halloween Disco this evening. Thank you parents for bringing them and making a great effort towards their costumes!
Together in RE with Mrs Stevenson and Mrs Orrey, the Year 2 children discussed what Harvest Festival is and why we celebrate it. Then Mrs Freeston spoke with the children about flower arranging as well as giving the opportunity to all the children to have a go at arranging a flower themselves. It was a lovely experience for all of Year 2 to celebrate Harvest together.
Art: Material Experimenting
To begin our unit of art today the children had the opportunity to experiment different ways to change the texture of paper. For example: Twisting a single piece of paper, folding together two/three pieces of paper, creating curls etc. From the photos below you can see what a fabulous job they did!!
& for our art lesson this week, we have continued experimenting different ways to display materials. This week we have used a variety of donated fabrics. Creating different textures and patterns.

British Food Fortnight
To link with our current English and Science topics we have chosen to focus on the British Food Fortnight for some of our lessons. Today we have finished writing our BOSSY instructions on how to make chocolate crispy cakes. Then of course we got to make them and eat them as a treat at the end of the day!!
Today in our Geography lesson we have started our topic on Poland. The children first got to explore the atlas’ with their partner, they then had to locate different countries in Europe - especially Poland. We then discussed what countries we would have to travel through if we wanted to drive from Boston to Poland. Super pair work Badgers!!
Our first English lesson related to ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ where the children had to match vegetables (& fruits) with the letters of the alphabet. They all did a fabulous job of labelling their drawings!
