Year Two Sports Day
Today we have had Mrs Smith in to help us with our Great Fire of London Art, where we used pastels to create our background before adding our buildings. Some fabulous results!

Today we had the opportunity to design our windmills with moving parts. The children worked together problem solving and designing their own windmills. They worked extremely hard with some success of getting moving parts. Well done all of you!
Year 2 Santa Dash
A Fantastic Nativity this year performed by Year 2 children and the rest of KS1. Even having surprise visitors from Willowbridge Sheep visits Gipsey Bridge!
Today (Tuesday 29th November), Key Stage One preformed their Christmas nativity to the local community including The Haven, Black Swan Care Home. It was lovely to have the community to come and visit our school, as well as watch the nativity performance that the children have been practicing so hard for. Well done Key Stage One!

Welcome back to term 2. We had a lovely day today for our Bright Day. We have learned more about Guy Fawkes, created firework art and had a visit from the Fire Brigade. Thank you for your support and donations which have been passed to the Fire Service.

Today we introduced our Geography topic 'Poland'. The children thoroughly enjoyed locating, labelling and writing about countries in Europe using the Atlases to help them.
Just a quick message to say that I have set the times tables for 2, 5 and 10 for the children to get started. This is only in the arena. If your child wishes to play against the world or challenge then this cannot be altered so they will have to attempt all the times tables. Thank you
We have already been busy working as a team to find different ways to make a 2 digit number by using a variety of concrete objects such as Base 10, Numicon, cubes and other mathematical equipment.
Good afternoon, Just a quick note to say that the children have settled in well today and have had a good day. PE this year in our class is on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon (outdoor PE will be weather permitting), please ensure children have a PE kit in school on these days.
Spellings will be given out on Monday 12th September and will be tested the following Monday. We don't send spelling books home in Year 2 but your child will record their score in their folder. Reading books will be sent out once we have assessed the children and then the children can change their books daily if they have read them and they have been signed by an adult.
