We are all looking forward to the year ahead with you! smiley

Parents, please do revisit this page when you can for updates and useful information as the year goes on, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact one of the adults.

Homework

Maths

  • Given out on a Friday -  to be handed in the following Friday.
  • 10 minutes of TTRockstars each week, please ensure this is practised (this will support your child's learning and overall understanding).

Reading

  • Your child needs to read at least 3 times a week, with their reading record book signed by an adult.
  • Your child’s reading book and records MUST be brought in daily, to monitor reading between home and school. We value any comments made by parents/ guardians in relation to reading.
  • Similar to last year, your child will receive a raffle ticket for the number of times they read to an adult each week (1 raffle ticket every 2 reads). These tickets will then be entered into a raffle, where your child could win a prize!
  • Reading at home, as well as school, is a fantastic way of supporting your child’s learning. Discussing books and providing meaningful reading opportunities outside the classroom can foster a lifelong love of reading.

Spellings

  • Spellings homework will be handed out each Friday, to be returned the following Friday to be tested.

We record weekly results to track and monitor progress, we of course reward those that are completing the weekly tasks, thank you for your co operation.

PE Days

Our class PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays this year. PE kits can be brought in on Mondays or Tuesdays and will be sent home with the children each Friday.

Christmas is coming...

Today, the Bees class have been getting in the spirit of the season helping decorate our class tree.

Thanks to the kind donations of the families of the children in our class, our hamper is taking shape ready for the raffle! Someone is going to be very lucky on Friday!

Soup making / tasting

Today, our class have been making soup. They have been learning about which ingredients are needed, preparing them, stirring them and tasting their creations!

This has been enjoyed by all!

In RE this term the children have been learning about Christianity including a focus on weddings. The children enjoyed a live enactment of a wedding with dress up opportunities!

This week we have been enjoying the last of the good weather to create rubbings for our "Frottage" art lessons!
