Year 5 Miss Morley

As part of Art's Week, parents were able to purchase their child's work in a frame. These will be ready for collection from Monday 18th July. As the frames are glass, please ensure an adult can collect these from the school.

As part of our RE experience day, we completed an activity based on the Hindu rites of passage. The children worked together to evaluate the clues, in order to sequence the events.

Computing - using Scratch to programme our own quizzes. The children were able to use their debugging skills to check for any errors.

Sculpting and carving Ancient Greek pottery using coiling techniques.

Using carving tools to carve out Ancient Greek tablets.

English - King Arthur We plotted the main events and then focussed on finding synonyms to support our writing.

History - We looked at the features of Anglo Saxon settlements and created our own maps.

Squirrel Class Organisation and Homework

Spelling

Handed out on Monday and to be returned the following Monday please.

Maths

Handed out on Friday and returned the following week before Friday please so that it can be marked.

TT Rockstars

A fantastic way to help children learn their times tables. Children should have their logins already.

Homework Menu

Handed out half-termly. Children choose three activities in total, Starter, Main Course and Dessert. These three activities need to be completed by half-term please.

Reading

Reading records checked on Wednesdays. Please hear your children read at least three times a week and make sure that reading records are signed. We are pleased to say that children are able to return to changing reading books regularly and independently.

PE

Outdoor PE on Wednesday and indoor PE on Thursday. The children will need black shorts and white tops and warmer outdoor clothing as the weather changes.

Seesaw

Logins will be sent out shortly so that the children can share their work with you.
