Following previous communications, we are delighted to confirm that we have started the process of setting up a SEND Hub in school. This will enable us to provide more specific targeted learning with additional support, as well as providing a calm space for pupils in school to access. We have secured funding to develop a space in school for the unit, including an additional sensory room, accessible toilet and outside area. In addition, funding has been confirmed to enable the development of the space next to the library to create bespoke small group learning areas, for the benefit of the whole school community. Key pupils will be identified who will best benefit from the additional support provided within the hub, with additional “transient” spaces available for all pupils to access on an ad hoc basis. Training will be provided to staff who will be in the hub, but also to the wider teaching team to support all pupils.

A lot of work is going on in the background to develop the teaching and learning that will be delivered, as well as in the planning needed to prepare the area. The next step is a 4-week public consultation which will start tomorrow, 4 February 2026 – notices will go up in and around school with more information. The final decision will be made at the end of April, in order that the necessary building work can be completed in time for September, as well as staff recruitment and training.

The SEND Hub development will be delivered by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) at the same time as the flat roofs are renewed, for which we received confirmation in the last few days that the project has been given the green light. This means that work will start after Easter and run until September. More information will follow with further details after February half term. We have been working very closely with the LCC project team over the last 18 months and will continue to do so throughout the project to ensure that any disruption is kept to an absolute minimum and that the teaching and learning in school is unaffected.

On 25th June 6:30-7:30pm, Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse Partnership and Lincolnshire County Council’s Stay Safe Team will be delivering a FREE webinar for parents and carers around misogyny and online harm. During the session we will take a detailed look at:

•What misogyny is and where is it seen?

•The impact misogyny has on young people in Lincolnshire.

•How positive masculinity can help support young men and address violence against women and girls.

•How parents and carers can support young people both online and offline with misogyny.
