Year R Mrs Wright/Mrs Jackson

THE GREAT OUTDOORS SUMMER TERM 2

This term most of the home learning will be electronic based. This means that the lessons and resources are uploaded for you on our tapestry page and our class pages.

There will be a selection of resources to collect from the school office and you will also receive an exercise book and a pencil.

Once you load up the White Rose Maths or Read write Inc lessons, your children can then complete the activities in their exercise book. Just write the date at the top of the page and what they are focusing on for that day e.g. ADDITION TO 10.

We have also provided paper-based learning if you do not have access to the Internet.

Each week we will upload the White Rose lessons to focus on for that week and any other electronic learning that will support your child in achieving the end of year Early Learning Goals πŸ¦‹πŸƒ

If you have any questions please send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Take care and keep safe 🌈

SUMMER TERM 2 THE GREAT OUTDOORS UPDATED VERSION!! Each week on the plans there are different activities linked to each area of learning for you to explore with your child!

R.E HOME LEARNING

SUMMER TERM 2

In R.E this year we have been using some stories to explore the religion of Christianity called ‘God’s Story’.

The link below takes your directly to all of the different stories.

Choose a story each week and ask your child to write a 2 or 3 sentences to summarise the key points and meaning of the story.

Remind them to begin their sentences with a capital letter and to remember their finger spaces and full βœ‹ stops.

If they can write more that’s great πŸ‘πŸ‘

We would love to see their work so don’t forget to upload pictures of what they’ve been up to πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹

Read Write Inc online learning

We are very excited that Read Write Inc have started doing online lessons on their youtube site (follow the link below).

Children in EYFS should be recapping on set 1 sounds and then learning set 2 sounds. Your child in school would be doing speed sounds, followed by word time reading and then spelling as the phonics element of their English lesson, before they practise reading a book. The RWI youtube channel are doing a new set of lessons each day, which are then available for 24 hours so your child can do them at any point during the day. Watch all three videos in order, your child will just need a pencil and paper to spell some words.

If your child is still not secure in their set 1 sounds (single sounds of the alphabet and the special friends sh, ch, th, qu, ng, nk) then show them the set 1 videos daily. If your child is secure with the set 1 sounds, show them the set 2 videos and they can keep learning their set 2 sounds - the videos will teach a sound a day, but then recap the sounds regularly. If your child really enjoys them, they could do set 1 and set 2 videos!

They should really enjoy the routine of doing RWI again, just as we did at school. We hope your child is retaining the sounds we have learnt and enjoying applying them in any reading or writing they are doing. If you have any problems or need guidance on the RWI phonics, please e-mail me on jo.glew@hawthorn-tree.lincs.sch.uk.
