Well being of all the children is at the heart of our school.
From September 2019, we are fortunate to be working with the charity Supporting Minds. They are a non – profitable organisation whom have trained counsellors to work with all of our children. Thanks to a donation from Mr Michael Worth, a local farmer and entrepreneur, we are able to have these specialists work within our school. The team from Supporting Minds are visiting our school three times throughout the year, in September and January and April. The focus of these workshops will be;
From the first workshop our children became super heroes and identified their qualities and shared this with their peers. They made masks and wore them to represent their confidence within.
Please see the details below from the children’s first workshop. We believe at Hawthorn Tree Primary School that we provide layers of support for our children’s welfare, already we have a great mentoring and SEND team working with children and families. Our teachers and teaching assistants spend time supporting children in a multitude of ways. Supporting Minds provides all of our children with support for their well- being, equipping all our children with a range of strategies to support them in their learning and everyday life.
